Measuring your boat

When possible, we are always happy to measure a customer’s boat before designing and manufacturing new sails or covers. We feel this is an important part of the service we provide, giving the customer peace of mind that his order will be completed accurately.

Below are a few points that you might like to consider before we attend and measure your boat:

  • At a most basic level your boat needs to be accessible to our staff – please ensure your harbour or marina are aware that our staff will be visiting your boat.

  • The principle reason for measuring a boat is to obtain an accurate set of measurements – we cannot do this in adverse weather conditions. So a period of bad weather will, unfortunately, cause delay.

  • The boat can be ashore or afloat.

  • The boat needs to be fully rigged with halyards and control lines fitted and working.

  • Do not forget that when we visit the boat, what we see is what we shall be measuring, so it is important that if you are planning to make any alterations to the boat, mast or rigging after we have measured you must tell us in advance.

  • Insurance – staff attending your boat will be covered by an appropriate indemnity policy.
