Run over the weekend July 3rd and 4th the
Felixstowe Regatta has grown to the point that it probably represents the
biggest single gathering of racing yachts on any part of the coast from as far
south as Cowes to as far north as Edinburgh.
Organised under the auspices of SailEast and based at Suffolk Yacht Harbour on
the Orwell, more than 50 boats gathered to contest 8
classes
Saturdays racing was held in light airs, whilst the last race on Sunday
afternoon saw a considerable number of boats carrying #3 genoa's in winds over
17 knots TWS - so a mixed bag of conditions requiring boats to be able to
demonstrate both good boat speed and slick crew work to gain good
results
At the end of the weekend, boats equipped with Quantum-Parker and Kay
sails carried off the winners trophies in every single class - great results
for our clients and testimony to the speed and competitiveness of the sails we
are designing and producing
